The City of Chesapeake is served by Chesapeake Animal Control and is the only agency that receives lost or found pets.
Chesapeake Animal Control is
also responsible for investigating animal neglect, animal cruelty and other animal-related crimes.
Chesapeake Animal Control's shelter always has dogs, cats and other companion animals available for adoption to members of the public for very reasonable fees.
Chesapeake Animal Control has also expanded their hours of operation to accommodate more visitors on evenings and weekends.
